Health and Wellness at Maple Knoll Village

Maple Knoll Village believes that health and wellness are essential to older adults and should be embraced daily. Health and wellness programs not only support an older adult’s health, but also their happiness. Encouraging our residents to maintain healthy habits such as eating nourishing foods and remaining active can provide benefits such as: boosting quality of life, preventing social isolation, and improving cognitive function.

The Hemsworth Wellness Center

The goal of the Hemsworth Wellness Center is to enhance the quality of life for Maple Knoll residents and members by increasing their independence and ability to perform activities of daily living.

Our staff members emphasize a whole-person approach to personal health and wellness by encouraging residents to develop, improve, and balance their entire well-being. One of our dedicated team members will work individually with each participant to ensure that their individual goals and interests are met at a safe and healthy level.

Programs and Services

The Hemsworth Wellness Center provides a mixture of traditional and alternative programs to creatively encourage the progress of each individual member. A variety of guided classes such as tai chi, chair yoga, and energize are offered throughout the week to ensure a blend of difficulty levels that everyone can appreciate. Health and wellness programs are also regularly conducted by Wellness Center staff to educate Maple Knoll residents and provide them with the tools needed to live healthier lives.

State of the art equipment and software designed to increase strength and balance are featured throughout the Wellness Center including the Activtrax system. Once activated into the ActivTrax system, each time a member arrives, they will receive a new workout telling them exactly which number machine to use, how to set the weights, and the number of repetitions to perform. The workouts progress with the member to allow them the independence of an everchanging exercise regimen.

Indoor Warm Water Pool

Another focal point of the Hemsworth Wellness Center is our aquatics program featuring a 20×60 indoor, warm water pool.

Guided classes within the aquatics program are designed to help with improvement in range of motion, muscular strengthening, cardiovascular conditioning, and endurance. Pool classes include: water aerobics, slow flow, water volleyball, silver splash, and ai chi. Members also have the option to use the pool on their own time by swimming or walking laps, floating, or utilizing designated water exercise equipment.

Our Wellness Center staff strives to help each member achieve their highest potential as an independent, older adults. Their dedication combined with the mixture of guided land and water classes allows for an exemplary wellness program that is hard to find elsewhere.

Our highly trained fitness specialists are readily available to ensure safe participation in all guided classes. Our guided programs are geared towards helping you make positive changes within your life.

Hours and Guided Class Schedule

The Wellness Center is open from 6:00am – 6:00pm daily, however, staff are only present during the times listed below.
