Dear Friends & Supporters
This past year will be remembered as a year like no other. The COVID-19 pandemic has truly tested all of us, and continues to impact our lives, our communities, and our nation in ways none of us could ever have imagined. We have seen our residents, staff, board members, families, and donors work together to ensure that we provide a positive, safe environment for those living and working in our communities. Throughout this time, Maple Knoll stood as a pillar of strength and support, and a safe haven to all of those in our care.
We can look back with appreciation on all that we have overcome and all that we have accomplished, despite a global pandemic. Our success, and that of those we serve, is a direct reflection of focused determination and, together, we made great strides in our path to the future. We were determined to be culturally inclusive and created both employee and resident Diversity and Inclusivity Committees. We were determined to stand out as premier retirement community and our communities and staff were recognized with awards such as “Best Retirement Community”, “Communicator of the Year”, “Visionary Leader”, “Emerging Leader”, “Apex Award of Excellence”, “Healthcare Hero”, and many more. We were determined to provide the highest level of care and support, even when the
odds were not in our favor. This determination resulted in high resident morale, community unity, successful fundraising, deficiency-free state surveys, and additional accolades that you will have the chance to review throughout these pages. This determination combined with the current pandemic crisis also led us to identify ways to further provide for not only our current seniors, but future seniors.
Today we reflect on our 173 years of service, feeling humbled by the many lives we have been privileged to touch throughout our history, and we look ahead with a new playbook filled with hope at the possibilities a new year brings. Yes, fiscal year 2021 was a year unlike any other, with challenges, losses, and barriers no one could have anticipated. However, Maple Knoll, like so many others, has persevered. Within this report, we share the many achievements, memories, and moments from the past year that serve as an inspiration for the future.
