Transportation Services Guidelines & Policies

Rates

Many of our clients are on a government assistance program. We provide services for Council on Aging (COA) programs such as Passport and Elderly Services Program (ESP), as well as Medicaid programs such as MyCare Ohio. If you are on one of these programs, we do not bill you.

Private Pay: MKOSS can still transport you to medical appointments if you do not qualify for assistance. Please call the coordinator with the necessary appointment information to determine your cost.

To request a ride to a medical appointment

Call our Transportation Coordinator at 513-686-1002 with the following  information ready:

  • Date Time Address

  • Doctor’s Name Phone Number for the Appointment

If prompted to, please leave a voice message including your name and phone  number and you will receive a return call within one business day (Unusual  circumstance pending).

Cancellations

If for any reason you need to cancel your appointment, please call our  Transportation Coordinator at 513-686-1002 as soon as you can so that your  time can be available for another client.

Snow Days: We utilize the Princeton City School District. If they are closed, we  are closed and Transportation services are not provided. Delays do NOT close  our business. We will call you to let you know the day before or the day of the  transportation depending on the weather. You can follow Channel 12 WKRC’s  shoolwatch program which list Maple Knoll Outreach Services should we  close

It is a pleasure to serve you. We hope you find the service both helpful and enjoyable. Please  remember each situation will be assessed on an individual basis. If you have questions regarding these  guidelines, please ask your driver.

To get back home from your appointment

When you’re ready to be taken home from your appointment, call your driver  with the number provided on his card. If you cannot reach your driver, please call our Transportation Coordinator at 513-686-1002.

For your protection and that of your driver, we must institute the following guidelines:

  • MKOSS’s transportation service is “door-to-door.” Riders must be able to get  from their house to the vehicle safely with minimal assistance from the driver. If  additional assistance is needed inside the medical office, grocery store, etc., a  caregiver should accompany you.
  • Riders are asked to be ready 15 minutes prior to their scheduled pick-up time to  help our staff stay on time for everyone.
  • Driver may be running late due to traffic, and/or other unforeseen circumstances.  Driver will contact you to inform you about a more precise pickup time, if  needed.
  • We can transport all wheelchairs, power chairs and scooters, as long as the  transporting chair meets the requirements for the vehicle’s lift. We ask all power  chair and scooter riders to inform the Transportation Coordinator prior to your  ride so we may plan accordingly.
  • For your safety, riders shall wear a seat belt at all times.
  • No eating, drinking or smoking in our vehicles.
  • If you have a fever, inform the driver, before you enter the vehicle. Allow the driver the chance to protect himself and other passengers. Driver can supply you  a mask to help control infectious pathogens from spreading to other passengers  and themselves. Thank you.
  • The ability to provide service will be re-evaluated if unsafe conditions arise for the  passenger or driver.

It is a pleasure to serve you. We hope you find the service both helpful and enjoyable. Please  remember each situation will be assessed on an individual basis. If you have questions regarding these  guidelines, please ask your driver.
